’Til The End Of The World, We’ll Meet In No Man’s Land
Conceived, written & performed by Inch Chua

A binaural and multi-sensory performance

TheatreWorks commissions singer-songwriter Inch Chua’s next creative work. Inch creates a multi-disciplinary performance inspired by her recent expedition to Antarctica, ’TIL THE END OF THE WORLD, WE’LL MEET IN NO MAN’S LAND. The production showcases Inch’s original songs, her first foray into playwriting, and binaural technology.

Destination: Antarctica. This land has never known war, it belongs to no nation, and is home to no tribe or indigenous human race. Antarctica is owned by no one and all of us at the same time. Amongst one of 80 individuals per year in the world to gain access, Inch recently travelled to the seventh continent of the world, as a part of 2041’s International Antarctic ClimateForce Expedition led by veteran world explorer, Robert Swan and his son Barney Swan. After that adventure, Inch returns home with a suitcase full of stories. She unpacks her suitcase and deconstructs her experience.

“I find myself walking in the snow, feeling equal parts alien and equal parts as one with the slush beneath my feet. No man’s land has been inviting and it/he/she beckons me into its cold
embrace. Who am I when I’m with you? I tried talking to the winds; struggling to introduce myself and describe the world I came from to justifying my presence. Silence. For the first time, true silence. They say silence is deafening, I call bullshit. Silence is silence. What’s deafening is the strain to hear it through the thunderous throbs of my blood pumping through my veins. What are you? Where am I?”

TheatreWorks continues its commitment to creative partnerships and journeys with Inch in the creation of ’TIL THE END OF THE WORLD, WE’LL MEET IN NO MAN’S LAND a multi-sensory performance showcasing original songs and the first full-length script written by Inch.
